Committee Chairs
Committee chairs organize and run committees for social and professional development, heading the various standing committees on which departmental representatives serve. Whle they vote as regular GSG members, they do not count as part of the total number of representatives alloted to each department, nor do they act as liaisons with the members of their home departments.

The Academic Chair oversees the academic needs and development of the graduate student community; investigates and develops recommendations for the GSG on academic issues; organizes the Graduate Research Colloquium and Awards Ceremony, as well as the Sigma Xi Seminar.
Public Relations Chair

The Public Relations Chair promotes awareness of GSG among the university community through crafting publicity materials in a variety of communications media, especially the GSG website; responds to requests for general information from the graduate student body at-large.
Social Chair

The Social Chair helps build a sense of community among graduate students in through organizing social events each semester; assists the vice-president as necessary with Fall and Spring orientation; organizes the Graduate Student Orientation Picnic; works with other committees, as requested, with the social aspects of workshops, such as catering and reservations.
Parlimentarian

The parlimentarian is an authority on parlimentary procedure who advises the GSG and any sub-committees on parlimentary rules of order.
Softball Coordinator

The Softball Coordinator organizes the GSG Co-ed Summer Softball Leauge and acts as arbitrator for any disputes. The coordinator also helps organize the summer softball social.
